One Project At A Time

I love decorating.  And I really love decorating a new home.  My philosophy on this home is SLOW AND STEADY.  In my earlier years, I would set the goal of setting the house up in no time at all.  By that I mean, boxes unboxed and all the decorating done as quickly as possible.  With cardboard flying and nails being hammered, the house would be "done" prior to the time the first mortgage payment came in the mail.  This go around, however, I really want to take my time looking for just the right pieces to complement the Mediterranean coastal cottage style that I am going for in this new home.

This weekend on what was intended to be a routine, list in hand trip to Target.  While there, however,  I was drawn to a new brand that made me "ooh and ahh" at first glance.

This brand has everything from linens to dishes.  The patterns are rich and the colors are modern.

I love the colors in this collection above.  The blues, greens, yellows, and natural colors feel so "Mediterranean coastal cottage" to me.

And oh my goodness, these five items make my decorating heart go pitter patter.

So back to my trip to Target.  With "slow and steady" humming ever so softly in my mind, I settled on items that will end up in the main guest bath.  First, the FABULOUS shower curtain.  The material is a heavy cotton.  The colors are rich and amazing.  And the soft lines remind me of the ocean waves as they make their way to the shore.

I also purchased a new liner.  I spent a little more than normal on this particular liner because it is mildew resistant and contains no PVC.

I splurged on a matching rug that is rich in color and pile making it a comfy and useful accent.

Finally I bought these cute hooks and the shower rod.
The best news is that I downloaded a 5.00 off coupon from the Target website to use when you spend 40.00 on Threshold products.  So, the final cost wasn't too bad:

Shower curtain -19.99
Shower curtain liner - 10.49
Rug - 12.00
Hooks - 10.49
Shower rod - 10.99

So, how does it look?  Great so far.  But, it's still a slow and steady work in progress.  Now I need to find just the right wastebasket, wall decor, and simple accent pieces to complete the look.
