Getting Organized: The Kitchen

So, I admit it.  I've always been a cleaning nut and highly organized.  Order and neatness makes me happy.  I simply function better.

Recently, I picked up Oprah's latest magazine to read on the airplane (http://www.oprah.com/gift-list/The-March-2012-O-List-Get-Organized).  It INSPIRED me.  That inspiration coupled with the coming of spring.  Well, what better time to once and for all get organized and STAY organized.  And, so the fun begins.

This morning I spent a couple of hours perusing the internet in search of the perfect storage containers.  148.00 dollars later, I settled on several sets to help organize the pantry.  So, it's not bad now.
But, my goal is to rid the pantry of unopened boxes and place items in scaled containers.  My hope
is that the investment this morning will save money in the end.  Sealed containers equal fresher food, right?

Waiting on the containers, however, will not stop this inspired me!  Here's a sampling of my accomplishments thus far:
Dishtowel drawer.  Colored coded and anticipating Spring.  I put the winter towels away.  Why have them in the way?
The linen drawer.  I got rid of the faded and wrinkled and sorted by set.

One of four utensil drawers.  This one holds the baking utensils.  There is another one for "sharp objects", one for spatulas and spoons, and one for "etc".

I'm excited and on a roll.  I'll keep you posted.

Peace and love,
k
